Houses in the South of Yangtze River 45×48cm ink
Houses in the both sides of the river, and each house with white wall and black roof tile, these formed the south area of Yangtze River. It is a place with assemblages: white walls, black tiles, doors, windows and rivers. All kinds of geometric figures compose a colorful painting, pregnant with boundless beauty.
The post and panel structure cannot afford time’s whiling away, new material and new shape of the structure will certainly replace the former residences, which have our infinite sensation. Except minor typical old streets and mansions were kept as cultural relics, the familiar houses of south Yangtze River can but vanish away. I see the old friends and acquaintances off, and the impressions in my mind refine into abstract symbols: some chunks, some colors, lying by a gray river. These compose my new work, Houses in the South of Yangtze River, which is also the portrait of the deceased acquaintances.
