Pandora’s box

In an fantastic space, an exquisite box lies on the table that covered with eastern color, calmly, surrounding depressive atmosphere. It lies here, in the face of wanton focus by its mystery, there are too complicated thing inside to describe: tangly and ignorant feeling in childhood, trouble along with growth, and indescribable love, catholicity and unstanding, or a hope chest used by a person who loved you deeply. Everything are all unsure. Maybe, evil might growing stealthily inside.
This work is not an practice painting by Xie Hai, he doesn’t use his skilled contents in painting this time – his private life. Actually, he could do that, cause those of contents like flower, glass bottle etc. are all surrounding him everyday, he knows them well, but he didn’t.
His painting on paper named “Inside square” is an landmark, from that time, he starts to put some philosophic thought in his painting. “Pandora’s box” is totally different with his paintings before, he changed. Nobody knows why his painting style changed too much, and where is his chipper lines going? where is his protean stroke going? where is his beautiful life going?
Pandora don’t know what is inside before she open this box.
Everybody knows all of things until Pandora’s box has been opened.

一個(gè)詭異的空間里,一種令人窒息的空氣中,一張涂滿(mǎn)東方色彩的桌子上,一個(gè)精致的盒子安詳?shù)靥芍?。它躺著,用神秘接受肆意地?duì)視——里面是混亂的年少懵懂、成長(zhǎng)的煩惱以及莫名的愛(ài)情,還是寬容與諒解,或者是深?lèi)?ài)你的人的嫁妝。一切都具有不確定性。但是,也可能是罪惡和邪念。
這不是一件習(xí)作性的小品。謝海沒(méi)有用他善用的隱私生活來(lái)打動(dòng)人,他可以畫(huà)他桌子上的花、玻璃瓶子,那樣,他會(huì)更熟練一些。而是,他從他的紙本作品《四方之間》開(kāi)始,開(kāi)始用作品進(jìn)行哲學(xué)思考?!杜硕嗬暮凶印纷屛覀兛吹搅伺c以往不一樣的謝海,沒(méi)有人知道他的作品風(fēng)格為什么一下子變了這么多,他爽快的線(xiàn)條哪里去了?他變幻莫測(cè)的筆觸哪里去了?他的美麗生活哪里去了?

He is standing on the top of mountain, his heart and soul are all flying in the middle of valley, his painting style is totally different as a result of his different scope. An great masterpiece could touch your soul inside relying on artist’s thought and confidence. Xie Hai is skilled in using consequence in his article, he is always trying to find question at the beginning, then oppugning answer or result. Xie Hai’s painting is straight and concision, but sometimes doubtful, anxious and helpless, just like his article. He could always represent some beautiful things that other people ignored.
But, this piece of work is different, simple lines and compact idea, wide-screen, overlook means to express a kind of relax mood.
Xie Hai told me that he like the painting styles of Antoni Tapies and Mark Rothko in recent years. Actually, I have known his style a long time ago, he has requested me to buy their albums in 2002.Obviously,we can discover that the two artists’ affection in this piece of work, at the same time, we can also find out an theory “The Power of Pure Forms ” that told by Enst Cassirer.

陌生的目的地
心和靈魂游弋在山麓、山間,與心在山巔,角度的不同,藝術(shù)創(chuàng)作的氣局也完全不同。好畫(huà)之所以讓人動(dòng)情,取決于畫(huà)者眼界和信心的氣局。謝海的文章很會(huì)推理,往往用眼睛發(fā)現(xiàn)問(wèn)題,繼而質(zhì)疑答案或者結(jié)果。謝海的繪畫(huà)創(chuàng)作和他的文章一樣,直接、簡(jiǎn)潔的同時(shí)充滿(mǎn)質(zhì)疑、焦灼甚至無(wú)奈。他在人們往往忽略處將他自己所發(fā)現(xiàn)的美呈現(xiàn)出來(lái),與大家一起分享。
不過(guò),這件作品不同,筆簡(jiǎn),意約,結(jié)構(gòu)天寬地闊,謝海以鳥(niǎo)瞰的視角似乎想表現(xiàn)一種遼闊的感覺(jué)和一種放松的心態(tài)。
謝海和我說(shuō),這幾年他很喜歡塔皮埃斯(Antoni Tapies)、羅斯科(Mark Rothko)。事實(shí)上,更早一些時(shí)候,我就知道他的口味,他曾經(jīng)在2002年就托我從巴黎給他買(mǎi)他們的畫(huà)冊(cè)。很顯然,我們?cè)谶@件作品中看到了塔皮埃斯和羅斯科的影子,以及卡西爾(Enst Cassirer)所說(shuō)的創(chuàng)造激發(fā)美感的“純形式的力量”。
