   毛雪峰,大漠堂主,中國現(xiàn)代重彩山水畫的開創(chuàng)者。全世界非物質(zhì)文化遺產(chǎn)研究院特聘院士。甘肅臨洮人,2005年定居北京。1989年畢業(yè)于新疆藝術(shù)學(xué)院美術(shù)系,1997年畢業(yè)于北京畫院中國畫專業(yè)研究班。2023年被特聘為“世界非物質(zhì)文化遺產(chǎn)研究院特聘院士”。先后深造進(jìn)修于中央美術(shù)學(xué)院,中國國家畫院,清華大學(xué)研究班、精英班。西游邊陲二十載,足跡遍及天山南北。他特立獨(dú)行,致力于絲路山水畫的探索實(shí)踐和西域大美的深度開掘和表現(xiàn),創(chuàng)立西域重彩山水畫,是中國西部絲綢之路山水畫題材的開拓者和踐行者。“毛雪峰作品在傳統(tǒng)與現(xiàn)代、抽象與具象、水墨與色彩、中西方藝術(shù)融合方面是一次積極的嘗試和突破,已將關(guān)照面從‘西部風(fēng)情’的再現(xiàn),拓展到西部精神的表現(xiàn),增加了歷史的縱深感”?!捌渚辰缰畨验?,意蘊(yùn)之豪邁,丘壑之雄奇,色彩之交響,形成了獨(dú)特的畫境和藝術(shù)風(fēng)格?!?摘自《美術(shù)》2003年第9期)。多年來毛雪峰的山水畫作品多次參加全國美展,并在30多個(gè)國家和地區(qū)交流展出或獲獎(jiǎng),數(shù)百幅作品發(fā)表于全國及海外各類主流期刊。先后在中國美術(shù)館、敦煌博物館及日本東京中央美術(shù)館銀座、美國紐約國際藝術(shù)博覽會(huì)、美國瑪瑞埃塔大學(xué)、法國巴黎盧浮宮、迪拜、英國、印度、俄羅斯列賓美術(shù)學(xué)院、加拿大、澳大利亞、歐洲、東南亞各國及全國各地多次舉辦個(gè)展或聯(lián)展,進(jìn)行學(xué)術(shù)交流和講座,受到廣泛好評。2005年中國美術(shù)報(bào)學(xué)術(shù)提名“西風(fēng)浩瀚,西北五省國畫百家。”2007年中國書畫報(bào)頒發(fā)“全國書畫界50位著名畫家終身藝術(shù)成就獎(jiǎng)?!?006年榮獲“世界華人藝術(shù)家杰出藝術(shù)成就獎(jiǎng)?!?008年在全國政協(xié)禮堂獲頒“改革開放三十年杰出畫家”殊榮。2016年評為“全國當(dāng)代30家最具學(xué)術(shù)價(jià)值與市場收藏升值潛力的國畫家。2010中國文聯(lián)評為“中國山水畫200家”“99中國百杰畫家”。2012年中國文聯(lián)中國文學(xué)藝術(shù)基金會(huì)頒發(fā)“文學(xué)藝術(shù)杰出成就獎(jiǎng)”。2013年被評為“全國最具創(chuàng)新國畫藝術(shù)家”和“當(dāng)代國畫家中15位書法家”、2023年聯(lián)合國教科文組織頒發(fā)“世界藝術(shù)獎(jiǎng)”。作品曾獲“聯(lián)合國國際和平年藝術(shù)大獎(jiǎng)”“20世紀(jì)國際藝術(shù)名家教授成就大獎(jiǎng)”“亞洲中國畫巡回大展金獎(jiǎng)”“2008年和諧中華迎奧運(yùn)全國美展金獎(jiǎng)”“西安世博會(huì)全國美術(shù)展覽金獎(jiǎng)”“當(dāng)代國際水墨畫大展沙龍獎(jiǎng)”“美國第35屆紐約國際藝術(shù)博覽會(huì)國際金獎(jiǎng)”及“中美文化交流使者”稱號、“中印文化藝術(shù)使者”“中俄文化藝術(shù)交流大使”。

   毛雪峰先生應(yīng)邀赴國內(nèi)外多所高校作演講和學(xué)術(shù)報(bào)告。2008年他應(yīng)邀在北京大學(xué)百年大講堂作了主題為《創(chuàng)新是攀登的天梯》演講2013年他應(yīng)美國馬瑞埃塔大學(xué)邀請舉辦個(gè)展并向師生們作了題為《閱讀美國》和《中國水墨與西方色彩之吻》的演講。2014年他應(yīng)蘭州大學(xué)邀請于11月10日作了《重彩山水畫的創(chuàng)立與發(fā)展》《我的藝術(shù)人生》演講。2016年應(yīng)印度新德里夏爾達(dá)大學(xué)邀請作了《絲綢之路萬里行》演講。毛雪峰先生曾多次擔(dān)任中國創(chuàng)新藝術(shù)家提名活動(dòng)學(xué)術(shù)主持人。2023年6月應(yīng)邀為北京林業(yè)大學(xué)藝術(shù)設(shè)計(jì)學(xué)院演講《藝術(shù)是生命》。

   近現(xiàn)代以來,中國傳統(tǒng)繪畫經(jīng)歷了翻天覆地的變革,無論是藝術(shù)理念、創(chuàng)作視角、構(gòu)圖樣式,還是筆墨技法、色彩運(yùn)用、題材拓展等諸多方面都可看到中國畫家做出的延伸與拓展。特別是在中國山水畫領(lǐng)域,自李可染提出“為祖國河山立傳”的口號之后,山水畫的創(chuàng)作面貌不再固守明清以來的文人畫體系,畫家的足跡開始遍布各地,并涉獵和寫照更廣泛的繪畫題材,從此沙漠、戈壁、海灘、草原等原本在中國傳統(tǒng)繪畫中被認(rèn)為是不入畫的題材也漸漸進(jìn)入中國畫的創(chuàng)作范疇。通過這一突破常規(guī)、探尋自然的偉大進(jìn)程,不僅豐富了中國山水繪畫的風(fēng)格面貌,而且讓傳統(tǒng)的筆墨、色彩、構(gòu)圖等技法都得到了史無前例的升級與改造。

   作為新疆重彩山水畫的創(chuàng)立者、中國西部畫院院長,毛雪峰深入新疆駐地長達(dá)二十余年,從重彩山水到大漠胡楊,無一不體現(xiàn)著他對新疆地域的濃濃喜愛與深厚情感。近兩年來,隨著其藝術(shù)功底的愈發(fā)爐火純青,開始大膽嘗試起前無古人的草原山水題材,經(jīng)過長期的寫生實(shí)踐與理念研究,足跡遍布內(nèi)蒙古、甘南、河西走廊、青海草原以及印度、俄羅斯、美國、迪拜等國,如今,毛雪峰的創(chuàng)新草原山水繪畫已然風(fēng)格確立且成就顯著,也成為中國草原山水畫領(lǐng)域中開宗立派的第一人。

   Mao Xuefeng, the leader of the Desert Hall, was the pioneerof modern Chinese heavy color landscape painting.Distinguished academician of the World Intangible Cultural Heritage Research Institute. Born in Lintao, Gansu, settled in Beijing in 2005. Graduated from the Department of Fine Arts of Xinjiang Academy of Arts in 1989, and graduated from the Chinese Painting Professional Research Class of Beijing Academy of Painting in 1997. In 2023, he was specially appointed as a special academician of the World Intangible Cultural HeritageResearch Institute. I have pursued further education at the Central Academy of Fine Arts, the National Academy of Painting of China, the Tsinghua University Research Class, and the Elite Class. Journey to the western border for twenty years, with footprints covering the north and south of the Tianshan Mountains. He is unique and dedicated to the exploration and practice of Silk Road landscape painting, as well as the deep exploration and expression of the beauty of the Western Regions.He founded the Western Regions heavy color landscape painting and is a pioneer and practitioner of the Silk Road landscape painting theme in western China. Mao Xuefeng’s works are a positive attempt and breakthrough in the integration of traditional and modern, abstract and concrete, ink and color, and Chinese and Western art. They have expanded the focus from the reproduction of ’Western style’ to the expression of Western spirit, increasing the depth of history. "The grandeur of its realm, the grandeur of its meaning, the grandeur of its valleys, and the symphony of its colors have formed a unique painting and artistic style." (From "Fine Arts", Issue 9, 2003).Over the years, Mao Xuefeng’s landscape paintings have participated in national art exhibitions multiple times and have been exhibited or won awards in more than 30 countries andregions. Hundreds of his works have been published in various mainstream journals both domestically and overseas. He has held multiple solo or joint exhibitions, academic exchanges, and lectures at the China National Art Museum, Dunhuang Museum,Tokyo Central Art Museum Ginza, New York International Art Expo,Marietta University in the United States, Louvre in Paris,Dubai, the United Kingdom, India, the Robin Academy of Fine Arts in Russia, Canada, Australia, Europe, Southeast Asian countries, and various parts of the country, receiving widespread praise. In 2005, China Art Daily was nominated for the title of "West Wind is Vast, with 100 Chinese Painters from the Five Northwestern Provinces." In 2007, China Painting and Calligraphy Daily presented the "Lifetime Art Achievement Award for 50 Famous Painters in the National Painting and Calligraphy Industry." In 2006, it was awarded the "Outstanding Artist Award for World Chinese Artists." In 2008, it was awarded the "Outstanding Painter in the Thirty Years of Reform and Opening up" award in the National Political Consultative Conference Hall. In 2016, he was awarded the title of "Top 30 Contemporary Chinese Painters with the Most Academic Value and Market Collection Appreciation Potential in China". In 2010,he was awarded the title of "200 Chinese Landscape Painters"and "99 Top 100 Chinese Painters" by the China Federation of Literary and Art Circles. In 2012, the China Literature and Art Foundation of the Chinese Federation of Literary and Art Circles awarded the "Outstanding Achievement Award in Literature and Art". In 2013, he was named the "Most Innovative Chinese Painting Artist in China" and "15 Calligraphers among Contemporary Chinese Painters". In 2023, he was awarded the"World Art Award" by UNESCO. The work has won the "United Nations International Year of Peace Art Award", "20th Century International Art Masters and Professors Achievement Award","Asian Chinese Painting Tour Grand Exhibition Gold Award","2008 Harmonious China Welcoming Olympics National Art Exhibition Gold Award", "Xi’an World Expo National Art Exhibition Gold Award", "Contemporary International Ink Painting Exhibition Salon Award", and "35th New York in the United States"The title of "International Gold Award" and"Ambassador of Cultural Exchange between China and the United States", "Ambassador of Cultural and Art Exchange between China and India", and "Ambassador of Cultural and Art Exchange between China and Russia" at the International Art Expo.

   Mr. Mao Xuefeng was invited to give speeches and academic presentations at multiple universities both domestically and internationally. In 2008, he was invited to give a speech on the theme "Innovation is the Ladder to Climb" at the Centennial Lecture Hall of Peking University. In 2013, he was invited by Marietta University in the United States to hold a solo exhibition and gave speeches to teachers and students on the topics "Reading America" and "The Kiss of Chinese Ink and Western Colors". In 2014, he was invited by Lanzhou University to give speeches on November 10th on the establishment and development of heavy colored landscape painting and my artistic life. In 2016, at the invitation of the University of Sharda in New Delhi, India, he gave a speech titled "Journey of the Silk Road". Mr. Mao Xuefeng has served as an academic host for the nomination of Chinese innovative artists multiple times.In June 2023, I was invited to give a speech on "Art is Life"to the School of Art and Design at Beijing Forestry University.

   He has served as the first president of the Xinjiang Autonomous Region Calligraphy and Painting Research Institute,executive vice president and secretary-general of the Xinjiang Silk Road Calligraphy and Painting Institute, and deputy director of the organizing committee for the National Contemporary Landscape Painting Exhibition. I am currently a member of the Chinese Democratic Progressive Party and a national first-class artist. President of Beijing China Western Painting Academy, President of China Zhongcai Landscape Painting Academy, Executive Director of the Democratic Progressive Central Kaiming Painting Academy and Honorary President of Xinjiang Democratic Progressive Kaiming Painting Academy, Vice Chairman of the American Chinese Artists Association, Vice President of the Canadian World Artists Federation, President of Beijing Damei Painting and Calligraphy Academy, Director of Beijing Mao Xuefeng Art Museum,President of Beijing Xiongfeng Science and Technology Cultural Research Institute, and Vice President of China Shiqi Art Research Association Honorary Dean of the Confucius Institute of Calligraphy and Painting in China. Visiting professors andmaster’s supervisors at Lanzhou University, Yangzhou University, and Beijing Forestry University, as well as visiting or part-time professors at the National Academy of Arts in Japan, Hong Kong Institute of Art in China, Charlotte University in New Delhi, and Dingxi Normal University in India.Vice president and researcher of the Xinjiang Landscape Painting Research Institute at Shihezi University in Xinjiang, specially appointed painter at Jiangsu Provincial Academy of Traditional Chinese Painting, director of the China Ethnic Minority Promotion Association under the Ministry of Culture,and academic host of the nomination event for Chinese innovative artists, Honorary President of the Chinese Landscape Painting Research Association.

   Since modern times, traditional Chinese painting hasundergone earth shaking changes. Whether it is artistic

   concepts, creative perspectives, composition styles, brush and ink techniques, color application, theme expansion, and many other aspects, Chinese painters have made extensions and expansions. Especially in the field of Chinese landscape painting, since Li Keran proposed the slogan "Inheriting the Motherland’s Rivers and Mountains", the creative landscape of landscape painting has no longer adhered to the literati painting system since the Ming and Qing dynasties. Painters have started to spread their footprints throughout various regions and have explored and depicted a wider range of painting themes. From heavily colored landscapes to desert poplar trees, he embodies his strong love and deep emotions for the Xinjiang region. In the past two years, as his artistic skills have become increasingly sophisticated, he has boldly attempted unprecedented grassland landscape themes.After long-term sketching practice and conceptual research,his footprints have spread throughout Inner Mongolia, Gannan,the Hexi Corridor, Qinghai grasslands, as well as India, Russia,the United States, Dubai and other countries. Now, Mao Xuefeng’s innovative grassland landscape painting style has been established and achieved remarkable success, He also became the first person in the field of grassland landscape painting in China to establish the founder school.
